Shamanic Meditation #1 on my own
Today was a special day that I needed extra help. Michelle’s mom (Mom #2) has been diagnosed with cancer again after a long remission only this time, it’s all through her body and incurable. She doesn’t have much time and I needed some extra energy today before I go to see her in the hospital. My gifts sometimes show me too much and I just don’t know how I could handle it on my own. I spoke with one of my mentors, Jim, and even though we haven’t really said that, he is important to my spiritual growth, I just know. Mentors are really teachers who you also teach and that is how I look at it. He is also my family and I thank my guides and gods who have shown me the path to him as well as so many others in the last year. One doesn’t make a family, many do.
Today I choose to do my Tree Meditation but before I did that I asked for my guides, gods and ancestors to come to me. The energy was very velvety and moved over my body in a calming matter so I knew something major was coming to me in this particular meditation.
I started walking into my grove of trees and found myself looking at the beautiful blue sky, the warm breeze danced through my hair and birds sang so beautifully and happily, they told me spring was coming soon. This helped me even more as I’ve been so wanting the maiden spring to come in. The smells filled the air, lilac, jasmine and even a rose. Everything was crystal clear. As I walked up to the tree, mother tree embraced me with her branches and two people walked up to me. The first one was Mother Freya. She was so maternal and serene... her long red hair falling down her back. She was in a simple dress and a dark blue shawl covered her shoulders, around her stood three cats. She spoke in a lyrical voice and said I’m here my child. As I watched a tall man walked up to the other side of the tree and he was darkly handsome with long grey hair and a grey beard and an eye patch over his eye, upon his shoulders sat 2 crows, Hugin and Munin. He had a dark cloak on and in his hands there was an old old staff engraved with runes. He walked up and said I’m here young one. They gestured to the tree and told me to prepare myself for what I must do. As I sat there, I saw a dark grey wolf walk up and sit on my right side and lay his head on my leg and look up at me with his dark brown eyes. Then a black panther slinked up to me, golden yellow eyes and laid down on my left side and put her head on my right leg and looked up at me with her golden eyes. Then a group of all assorted animals came up from the trees, deer, elk, rabbits, turtles, lions and different big cats, many of them.
As I closed my eyes, I seen the Fates (maiden, mother, crone) spinning on their wheel of spider silk and I felt their energy fill me and I closed my eyes the last thing I heard was the birds chirping in the wind through my hair as I flowed into the tree and followed the roots, Mother Earth covered me in her warm moist dirt, giving me warmth as I traveled. I went many miles parting through rock as if I were swimming in water and they parted for me and touched me with their strength as I moved forward. Finally I come to the pristine lake with the clear waters and from the water a woman rose up and whispered let go of your sorrows and pain my daughter and let it flow into the water. She lifted me up and embraced me and I felt all the pain and sorrow fall from me. She became a huge waterfall and I became the waterfall as well and we pushed forward back into the water and back to the roots of the tree and I journeyed back very fast, Mother Earth caressed me with her essence as I moved through her. I came back into my body very quickly and Father Odin took my head in both of his hands and said take what I give you young one. And then Mother Freya placed a kiss on my forehead and said this will help you my child. They both said now go and get your tool to help. The wolf licked my right hand and the panther my left hand. As I looked up my beautiful lynx walked up to me and sat down, nodded and said climb on my back young one. I climbed onto her back and ran my hands over her soft fur and felt myself becoming one with her as she ran. We came to the largest Ancestor fire I’ve seen and many more ancestors were there waiting for me. Grandpa Baldwin said Hey Toots, been waiting for you, and I’m here. I walked up to him and gave him a hug and he told me to tell Dad that he was a good son and that he always watching over him and I see my great grandmother Bircher, my great grandmother Sheffer, my grandma Sheffer and my grandpa Sheffer and many more back ages through time. Last one who came up to me was Uncle Dave and he said I may not be blood but I’m always your family and he said he’s seen his boys and his grandson and granddaughter and that they are beautiful and I’m to tell Shawn and Wes that they are good dads. He told me that he watches out for all of them and more so with Todd. He gave me a hug and told me to go to where I needed and the many generations of ancestors parted the way for the eldest grandmother. She motions me to come here and give me the blade and said remember your lessons, protect, heal, teach and the sword glows brighter than I’ve ever seen, the runes move continuously over the blade, it becomes the staff and the staff glows with such a bluish green intensity flowing over it and into my hands that shake with the power, then the book appears larger than before and flips open and healing runes flow into my body quickly and some I recognize some I don’t. I walk away from the fire thanking all my ancestors for being there for me and protecting me and guiding me.
I start to walk towards the lynx, my body humming with power, I feel like an electrical wire. I climb onto her back and we run very fast from the fire and back to the grove of trees.
The animals in the grove slowly move away and the wolf, panther, lynx lick me as they leave. Father Odin and Mother Freya walked away and I wake up and come back into my body. I see my familiar Olivia laying to my left side and Samuel in front of me. Mister walks up to me and lets me pet him and walks away. I feel cleansed and full of energy once I come back to this reality.
